In Your Shoes Guiding Circle Members

TERRY GAVIN, Co-founder & Co-President

Terry Gavin is the Co-Founder and Co-President of In Your Shoe, a giving circle, started March 2008. In Your Shoes was started as a way of giving back to the Westborough community in need. As a stay-at-home mom for the past 23 years, Terry has been a Westborough volunteer for almost all that time. Terry started as Team Recruitment captain for Relay For Life in Westborough and worked her way up to Chair of Relay For Life. She held numerous positions for the Westborough Youth Soccer Association when the association started the U6 and U8 program. Most recently, she was President of Westborough Fine Arts Education Association for the past two years. She is married to her husband John for 25 years and they have three girls: Brittany, Mackenzie and Karli. Without their help and support Terry would not be able to do all that she does. The Westborough community is a wonderful, giving community that makes giving so easy to do. In addition to volunteer work, Terry enjoys watching her girls participate in various athletics and enjoying summers on the Cape with her family and friends.

KAREN ROSS, Vice President

Karen Ross has been an active member of In Your Shoes since its inception and took over as Vice President in 2010. She was the Polar Plunge Chairperson for three years. Karen is passionate about helping people, and in particular, those within the communities where she lives. Karen grew up within a family that taught her to give of herself to help those in need and has worked with numerous charities for over 25 years. Prior to leaving the workforce to raise her two children, Karen worked in sales and marketing for the scientific community. She has been married to her husband Paul for over 23 years and has a son, Nicolas and a daughter, Erica. She hopes that she has set a good example for her children to follow in her footsteps of community service. In addition to volunteer work, Karen enjoys watching and participating in all athletics, traveling and spending time with her family.

Stephanie Leclair has been the secretary for In Your Shoes for the past three years. She and her family have resided in Westborough for over 26 years. All three of her children attended Westborough schools. Before she became involved with IYS, she had served on numerous parent group boards, especially at Hastings Elementary. Her proudest achievement was working for two years to receive approval to have a message board built and erected in front of Hastings School. Also, she is proud of the work she did as part of the Pipedreams Playground Committee, which raised funds to purchase and install playground equipment for two playgrounds at Hastings School. Stephanie is an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and finds her work as a hospice volunteer for UMass Memorial Hospital to be both fulfilling and inspiring. She is an avid world traveler and when she is at home, she can often be found running with her two dogs at the Robinson Walkup Reservation, or working on her tennis game at the Westborough Tennis & Swim Club.
